N.S. drug dogs getting pink slips in job cuts – Nova Scotia – CBC News

Rose and Gollum are outraged that Brett (aged 6) and Griffin (aged 7) will be heading to the unemployment line!  Fortunately they will likely stay with their handlers so they won’t be homeless as well!

Also a shout out to all of our friends at the local Canada Border Services in hopes that they still have their jobs.  You can come visit our LABS anytime.

Snares in Shubie Park

By now you’ve probably heard about the story that a man found a snare around a dog’s neck in Shubie Park. More here from the CBC.

Sounds like the dog was OK and hopefully this was a one-off occurrence, but if you’re walking your doggie buddies in the park, please pay special care.

Even more Oscar on Easter

The Easter Bunny looks a bit open-mouthy here, no? It looks as if he’s about to take a big bite out of our poor Oscar. Turned out OK for Oscar, though. He went ahead and won one of the best costume awards at a doggie party at Shubie Park last weekend. He won his owner a t-shirt. No big deal.

Here’s Oscar and our buddy Noah on Easter. Looks like a pretty good haul. Well done, lads.

Rose is caught up in the madness | The Dog Blog from Kwik Kopy Halifax

Really, do we even need these studies anymore?

A new study suggests – drumroll! – that having dogs in the workplace may relieve stress. From the CBC:

The employees who had brought their dogs to work reported the lowest stress levels, followed by those employees who did not have dogs. “Stress patterns for dog owners who did not bring their dogs to work appeared to consistently rise during the day, and their stress ratings were significantly higher than the dog-present group by the afternoon and at the end of the day,” the study reads.

Notably, the same study suggests that chocolate is delicious, Zeppelin rules, sex sells and water is wet. Full article here.

Krispy Kreme Fundraiser for Children’s Wish

It’s a common misconception ’round these parts that the KK in kkdogs.com stands for Kwik Kopy.

Laughable.

The KK does and always has stood for Krispy Kreme, as in Krisy Kreme Doughnut dogs. As in we worship at the Altar of Doughnut and think daily about how to acquire the maximum number of Krispy Kreme dozens.

So we were delighted to hear that one of our favourite charities, the Children’s Wish, was having a Krispy Kreme doughnut fundraiser.

You can order your Krispy Kreme doughnuts and help create the magic of a wish. Place your order online before April 1st, and your doughnuts will be brought in fresh. Your purchase will help grant the wishes of children around HRM.
